SCOTTSVILLE — Kenneth H. Stinson, 87, of Scottsville died at 3:33 p.m. Jan. 1, 2009, at a Scottsville nursing home.

The Allen County native was a retired construction worker, a farmer and an avid ginseng digger, gardener and fisherman. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Labor Union Local 661. He was a son of the late Hurston Stinson and Rosa Carter Stinson. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Chad Stinson.

Funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home, with burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at noon today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Stinson and his wife, Carol, and Tony Stinson and his wife, Linda, all of Scottsville; a brother, Noble Stinson and his wife, Liza Mae, of Scottsville; a sister-in-law, LaVoice Caldwell of Scottsville; three grandchildren, Trent and Matthew Stinson, both of Scottsville, and Amanda Meador and her husband, Jeremy, of Westmoreland, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren, Landon Stinson, Tucker Stinson, Cameron Meador, Carson Meador, Taylor Stinson, Tate Stinson and Tanner Stinson; and several nieces and nephews.
