Here are two issues that may come up during the General Assembly this year.

Some legislators may try to enact a bill that, in effect, will make solar panels too expensive for many homeowners to invest in, will strongly benefit utilities and will risk driving small solar companies out of business. If such a bill sounds like hogwash to you, let your representative know. Some legislators in Frankfort may also introduce bills that further weaken environmental standards in the name of “free market” principles.

Well, there is nothing free about dirty air and dirty water: Remember Flint, Mich., and call your representative to insist that common-sense safeguards be left alone (or strengthened). Do this for your children’s health and well-being.
