Rand Paul, an ophthalmologist and Kentucky’s junior senator, reported being attacked Nov. 3, 2017 outside his home as he was mowing his yard while wearing headphones. His neighbor, Rene Boucher was arrested by Kentucky State Police that day and charged with fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor offense in state court.

Boucher, 58, was later charged with assaulting a member of Congress resulting in personal injury.
