Western Kentucky’s coaches were confident in the team’s depth at receiver entering fall camp, saying they thought it was a group deeper than on last year’s 9-4, bowl-game-winning team.
After Greenwood dropped the first two sets in Tuesday’s District 14 volleyball match with visiting South Warren, Lady Gators coach Allen Whittinghill made sure his team took a moment to just relax -- then told his team to go out and have fun.
If Kentucky goes 7-3 or 8-2 this year, will there be a bowl game waiting for the Wildcats? What about if UK would go 4-6 – or worse? Could there still be a bowl game opportunity?

The South Warren girls’ golf team posted a team score of 322 Sunday at University Club of Kentucky to finish tied for second place in the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association All-State Championship.
After one of the wildest turn of events seen all year on the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals circuit, Josh Harris pulled off his fourth career victory with the tour in Saturday night’s Hope for Harlie finale at Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown.
Western Kentucky’s women’s golf team is headed back to Alabama following its team victory at the USA Intercollegiate. The Lady Tops are set to play in the Hoover Invitational hosted by UAB in Hoover, Ala., beginning Monday.

Louisville faced third-and-18 from its own 17-yard line on the first series of Saturday’s season opener against Western Kentucky, and Eli Brown knew what to expect.
The South Warren boys’ soccer team picked up a big District 14 win Thursday, knocking off defending region champion Warren Central 3-1 at Warren Central High School in a rematch of last year’s region final.
In her debut as a Lady Topper and collegiate golfer, Western Kentucky freshman Rylea Marcum finished second at the USA Intercollegiate and was named the first Female Golfer of the Week in the 2020-21 season, Conference USA announced Thursday.

Western Kentucky’s 2020 signing class included seven players from junior colleges, and the experienced roster the Hilltoppers had returning took notice of the work those players were putting in early in camp.
Jockey Tyler Gaffalione and owner Three Diamonds Farm earned their first meet titles at Kentucky Downs, with Mike Maker – who trains for Three Diamonds and frequently uses Gaffalione – winning a record fifth crown following Wednesday’s final day of racing in Franklin.
