SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Western Kentucky knew it would be thrown into the fire playing in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic, and the Hilltoppers are now heading from Sioux Falls, S.D., to Louisville feeling good about where they’re at.
The Bowling Green football team used a strong defensive effort to knock off previously unbeaten South Warren 41-24 and earn the postseason district crown for a second straight season Friday at South Warren High School.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods announced Wednesday the promotion of Kyle Wolz, who takes over as the team’s assistant general manager, and Holli Hawkins, who assumes the role of creative services director.
The Western Kentucky tennis team has announced its 2021 spring schedule, with a total of 22 dual matches leading up to the Conference USA Championship in Denton, Texas. The Lady Toppers begin the season Jan. 18 with a road match at Bellarmine.

The final pieces of the Western Kentucky men’s basketball nonconference schedule fell into place Tuesday with the announcement that the Hilltoppers will open the season against Nevada and LSU in Nebraska’s Golden Window Classic.
Western Kentucky softball coach Amy Tudor announced Tuesday her next signing class. The Hilltoppers received national letters of intent from Randi Drinnon, Savannah Fierke, Abby Newman, Kasia Parks, Maddie Poschke and Nani Valencia.

After a complete overhaul of the schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Western Kentucky men’s basketball team announced Friday its nine-game nonconference slate, including four games in E.A. Diddle Arena in December.
Western Kentucky women’s basketball coach Greg Collins signed four student-athletes in the Class of 2021 last week. The signees include Mace Blevins, Jaylin Foster, Mya Meredith and Jenna Walker.

Western Kentucky has struggled this season, sitting at 2-6 overall and 1-3 in Conference USA, but the Hilltoppers haven’t lost three consecutive games yet, and that’s something the team will look to continue this weekend.
For the second consecutive season, Western Kentucky senior DeAngelo Malone has been named to the Ted Hendricks Award Watch List, which honors the nation's top collegiate defensive end.
