Kavien Hinton homered and drove in three runs to lead Warren County North’s 11- and 12-year-old all-stars to a 7-0 win Sunday over Warren County South in District 1 Tournament pool play in Owensboro.

Hinton was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run. He scored twice.

WC North’s Hunter Wilson started and earned the win after tossing five scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and a walk. He struck out one. Justin Casten finished up with a scoreless inning, recording a strikeout.

Also for WC North, Andrew Barbalas was 4-for-4 with a stolen base and scored two runs and Dane Parsley was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Hunter Wilson chipped in with an RBI double and Gavin Brown also drove in a run for WC North.

Ty Croghan, Gray Pearson and Rylan Graves tallied hits for WC South.

WC North continues pool play Monday against Daviess County at 1 p.m., while WC South plays Franklin at 3 p.m. Monday.

Warren County South 20, Franklin 5

Warren County South raced out to an early lead with an 11-run outburst in the first inning on the way to beating Franklin 20-5 in three innings during District 1 Tournament pool play Sunday in Owensboro.

James Yarbrough had a 3-for-3 day at the plate with three RBIs. Camden Page was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Lukas Peterson went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Also for WC South, Justin Capps was 2-for-2 with a double and a stolen base and drove in a run, Joseph Fentress was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and and RBI, Sonny Price went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Dylan Marr had an RBI single and Mason Cosby finished with a double and two RBIs.

Yarbrough started and earned the win, striking out two in two scoreless innings.

WC South faces Warren County North in the tournament semifinals at 5 p.m. Monday.

Bowling Green East 14, East Daviess 4

Bowling Green East wrapped up pool play in the 9-10s District 1 Tournament with a 14-4 win over East Daviess on Sunday in Owensboro.

Tom Price finished with three hits, two runs scored and drove in a pair for BG East. Beau Bryant had two hits and scored three runs, Preston Davis had two hits and scored twice, Jaylin White drove in three runs off a pair of hits and scored two runs and Austin Arnold also had two hits and two RBIs for BG East.

Mason Dew’s line-drive RBI single to right field ended the game with the 10-run rule.

Chance Doyle, Dane Weaver and White combined to allow five hits while striking out five. Doyle earned the win.

BG East is back in action Monday in the district tournament semifinals against Owensboro Southern. Game time is 7 p.m.

Warren County North 16, Hopkins County 1

Aden Berisa struck out seven and fired a no-hitter to lead Warren County North to a 16-1 win over Hopkins County in District 1 Tournament pool play Sunday in Owensboro.

Brooks Vincent was 2-for-2, Rhett Bullock went 2-for-3 and Kyle Sledge was 2-for-3 for WC North.

WC North returns to action Monday night in the district semifinals at 5 p.m. against Warren County South.

Warren County South 16, Franklin 1

Warren County South produced a 20-hit attack to down Franklin 16-1 in three innings Sunday in District 1 tournament pool play in Owensboro.

Bryson Graves was 4-for-4 with two doubles to lead WC South. Mark Maniere added a 3-for-3 day with a triple, Caden McIntyre was 3-for-3 with a double, Brooks Moore was 2-for-34 with a double and Will Coffey was 3-for-4 in the win.

Jacob Lobb tossed two innings for the win, allowing only one hit while striking out four.

WC South faces Daviess County in a pool-play matchup at 1 p.m. Monday.
