The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches announced its annual awards Monday.

In Region 4, Greenwood girls’ coach Todd Tolbert was named Coach of the Year. Tolbert led the Lady Gators to a 19-11 record in his first season with GHS since a three-year stint as head of the program from 1990 to 1993.

The KABC also named Franklin-Simpson’s Chastity Gooch the Player of the Year for Region 4. Gooch, a Western Kentucky signee, scored 24 points per game, grabbed 16 rebounds per game and shot 49.6 percent from the field as a senior.
