The Warren Central boys’ basketball team got off to a hot start in Tuesday’s 91-69 victory over Bowling Green, with junior forward Chappelle Whitney leading the way.
Whitney scored 27 of his game-high 29 points in the first half, helping the Dragons build a 26-point halftime lead and cruise from there. He was 7-for-9 from 3-point range in the first half. Whitney entered the game with three made 3s on the season.
“We came out, we trusted each other,” Whitney said. “We love each other. We played together. We had open shots and we scored the basketball.”
Warren Central is scheduled to return to action at 7 p.m. Friday at South Warren.
