Bowling Green defensive lineman Jeremiah Lightfoot tackles Greenwood quarterback James Salchli during the Purples’ 24-10 win Nov. 5 at Bowling Green.

Bowling Green senior Jeremiah Lightfoot was among the 10-member Class of 2022 football signing class announced by Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday.

Lightfoot, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive lineman, was a First Team All-SKY Conference defensive lineman as a junior and a senior.

During his junior season, Lightfoot led the Purples to 2020 5A state championship. He recorded 73 tackles, six tackles for loss, and six sacks in his junior season as he earned Courier Journal 2020 Kentucky High School All-State Football Honorable Mention.

As a senior, Lightfoot tallied 71 total tackles – 45 solo stops – with four sacks and 17 tackles for loss. Lightfoot also tallied an interception, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble for the Purples.
