Questions surrounding who will start at quarterback for Western Kentucky have been circling since Kevaris Thomas came in during the third quarter of Saturday’s loss to Marshall and sparked the offense to its only two touchdowns in the game.
Western Kentucky graduate senior Mary Joiner collected her eighth career Conference USA Golfer of the Week award, the conference announced Thursday. She holds the second-most weekly awards in C-USA history, just one shy of Abby Bools of East Carolina who won nine between 2006 and 2010.

Conference USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced Wednesday the date of the 2020 Ryan C-USA Football Championship has been changed to Friday, Dec. 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and the game will be televised by CBS Sports Network.

The Western Kentucky women’s golf team finished fifth at Arkansas State’s Lady Red Wolves Classic after improving by four strokes and shooting 3-over 291 on Tuesday. The Lady Toppers carded a 22-over 886 at the 54-hole tournament.
Western Kentucky redshirt senior Tom Bevington birdied three of his final four holes Tuesday for an even-par 72 and WKU’s low score of the Intercollegiate at The Grove.
