A witness told Bowling Green police that shots were fired by an unidentified party following an April 12 purse snatching at the Wal-Mart on Morgantown Road.

A witness told police that someone allegedly shot two times toward the direction of a woman, whose purse had been taken from a shopping cart at the Wal-Mart, a police report said.

“We have not been able to find any evidence of a shooting,” Officer Ronnie Ward, spokesman for the Bowling Green Police Department, said Wednesday.

The woman told police she pursued a man who got into a car with a woman. A black revolver was produced from the car and two shots were fired, according to the witness, who told police he followed the vehicle along Morgantown Road, on to Glen Lilly to the T-Mart on Adams Street, before losing sight of the vehicle near East 13th Avenue near Chestnut Street.
